Our Team
Abby Fortin - Project Manager
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Abby holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Theology from Boston College. She began her nonprofit career at a national advocacy organization, where she spent four years developing expertise in grassroots mobilization, email marketing, and grant writing--skills that continue to inform her approach to mission-driven work. After relocating to Chicago to be closer to family, Abby gained valuable experience in the corporate sector, specializing in administration, project management, and event planning. Her diverse professional background enables her to bring both strategic insight and operational efficiency to her role at Common Good Grant Consulting. Abby currently lives in the suburbs of Chicago with her husband and cat, and is excited to be welcoming her first child this fall. Outside of work, she enjoys pilates, swing dancing, and quality time with friends and family. She is also an active member of her church community, where she finds both connection and inspiration.
Anna Mayer Diaz - Grant Writer & Account Manager
Anna Mayer Diaz is passionate about supporting mission-driven organizations in achieving sustainable growth by building on their unique strengths through compelling storytelling and strategic guidance. With over a decade of nonprofit leadership experience, she brings a deep understanding of the sector’s complexities, challenges, and opportunities. Anna knows what it's like to "wear many hats," having served 12 years—7 as Executive Director—at Taller de Jose, a faith-based community resource center offering accompaniment to immigrant communities on Chicago's southwest side. During this time, she honed her operations and writing skills and earned a Masters of Nonprofit Management from DePaul University.
When not grant writing, she can be found devouring audio books, running half marathons, and discovering the ongoing adventure of new(ish) parenthood.
